Destination Management Organization (DMO) for the Shouf District is an incipient and stimulating initiative that will oversee and coordinate the transformation of Al-Shouf district into a sustainable tourism destination. Aiming at integrating various types of touristic activities and tours that cover the entire district, DMO will ensure offering visitors the most enjoyable, memorable and comprehensive experience. DMO, closely collaborates with various stakeholders including farmers, guesthouses, table d'hôte, hotels, resorts and beaches. This cooperation will offer each partner the chance to contribute to the success of DMO’s mission all while bringing in their expertise in sustainable development, community development, social cohesion, tourism, advertising and marketing, which combined are essential for promoting and ensuring the sustainability of the destination.
Having the primary objective of promoting the entire region as a destination, encouraging tourism and related eco-tourism industries while respecting the unique historical and natural heritage of the Shouf District, DMO will strive to create an unforgettable and authentic visitor experience that fosters a deep understanding and appreciation of the Shouf's natural and cultural heritage while also contributing to the economic development of the region. By promoting the region's exceptional assets, DMO aims to support local producers and small businesses in enhancing their products and services, making them more sustainable and competitive in the tourism market.
To streamline operations, DMO will formalize the participation of tourism-related service providers through a memorandum of understanding signed by both parties and the Shouf Area Development Committee (ASDC). Bookings and reservations will be made through a fully operational e-commerce platform dedicated to Destination Shouf. DMO's office will be located in an aesthetically renovated traditional house in Maaser El Shouf, providing a fitting base for DMO’s team.
