It is one of the towns of Al-Jabal Al-Ariq, embraced by the Central Chouf district, 45 km from Beirut, and 650 meters above sea level.

The town is characterized by its abundance of springs and a moderate climate. Its nature is green and full of trees. Its people depend on the cultivation of grains such as beans, green cowpeas, and fruit trees such as peaches, peaches, and pears.
